Hershberger Performance Sale Company, Jason and Nikki Hershberger, held their fourth annual performance horse sale Saturday, January 10, 2009 in Buckeye, AZ at the Buckeye Equestrian Center. Horses were previewed on Friday at 2:00 and again on Saturday at 9:00. Horses were demonstrated in both the roping arena and the cutting pen. The sale began at 1:00. A professional staff included: Auctioneers, Joel White and Ben Hoepker, bid spotters included Stacy Lee, Mitch Armitage, and Cas Salley, and the office was managed by Sara Vaessen Pedigrees.
Buyers had three incentives to purchase horses from this sale. Mama's Ranch and Glen Nelson donated a paid breeding with each mare purchased from the 2009 sale to their great stallion Dos Of Starlight - 2000 Sorrel Stallion (Gray's Starlight x Dosey Doc). Hershberger Performance Horses offered a $500.00 college scholarship to an Arizona High School Student who rides and places the highest in AZ Year-End Standings on a horse purchased from the 2009 sale. Last, lucky buyer Rob Tedder took home the trophy saddle from the raffle drawing at the end of the sale.
Good food, beautiful Arizona weather, shopping, and great horses to watch and bid on made this year's performance horse sale a success. Hershberger Performance horses would like to thank all that attended.
